If you’re around my age or younger, you’ve more than likely heard of Mean Girls by this point in your life. A film written by the comedic genius Tina Fey, starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, tells the story of one Cady Heron, who moves from Africa and enters the wild jungle of public high school. Meeting the Plastics is the most dangerous encounter she’s ever faced, and one that she’s absolutely not prepared for. This coming-of-age comedy, which is based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, has further been adapted for the stage as a Broadway musical and eventually came full circle with a Mean Girls The Musical film adaptation.
The stage production is currently on its North American Tour and playing at the Fisher Theater as part of the Broadway in Detroit series of shows from November 19 through the 24. Before its arrival, we spoke with one of its stars, Joshua Morrisey, who plays Damian!
